Ealing’s Kindness Shines Through with Winter Coat Donation Drive

As the colder months approach, Ealing locals have the chance to make a real difference by donating a warm coat to someone in need.

There’s something special about a community coming together to look after one another, and Ealing Broadway’s Winter Coat Donation is a wonderful example of local kindness in action.

Now in its fifth year, the initiative has returned in partnership with London charity Calling London, inviting the community to donate good-quality coats to help keep people warm this winter.

Last year, an impressive 765 coats were donated, and organisers are hoping to build on that generosity in 2026.

From baby sizes to adult coats, donations of wool coats, ski jackets, duffle coats and padded jackets are welcome, provided they are clean and in good condition. Thin rainwear, cagoules, fleeces, jumpers and workwear jackets cannot be accepted.

All coats will be sorted and redistributed directly to people in need by Calling London, a charity that has been supporting Londoners through the winter since 2010.

How you can help

If you have a coat tucked away in your wardrobe that you no longer wear, why not give it a second life? A simple donation could make a real difference to someone facing the colder months without adequate winter clothing.

Where: Collection box outside Ealing Broadway Tesco Express
When: 19 October to 21 November 2026
What to donate: Clean coats in good condition, suitable for babies, children and adults.

It’s a small gesture that can have a big impact. By sharing what we no longer need, we can help ensure more people stay warm this winter and remind those facing difficult circumstances that their community cares.
