We visited over the weekend as a little treat for the kids and, quite honestly, we’re still dreaming about it. The name FuwaFuwa literally means “fluffy” in Japanese, and can also be translated as “light and airy” or “soft”- which is exactly how we’d describe their signature soufflé pancakes. They’re more than just pancakes; they’re a dessert experience.
Flavours to Fall For
The kids went for two of the most tempting options on the menu: Lotus Biscoff and Nutella & Strawberry. I may have “sampled” both (purely for research purposes, of course) and can confirm they are every bit as delicious as they look. Incredibly light, subtly sweet, and warm from the griddle - each bite was like sinking into a cloud of naughtiness.
A Sweet Spot in the Mall
Tucked away in a peaceful little corner of the Mall, FuwaFuwa’s Oak Street location feels like a bit of a hidden gem. It’s a calm escape from the hustle and bustle, and the perfect place to catch your breath over something sweet and indulgent.

FuwaFuwa started life in 2017 as a pop-up kiosk in Westfield Stratford City and has since grown into a beloved brand with locations in Bloomsbury, Soho and Canary Wharf, with more to come. As the first to bring Japanese soufflé pancakes to the UK, they’ve set the bar high with their handcrafted, made-to-order pancakes. Each one is created using a special secret recipe and only the finest ingredients, ensuring every bite is fresh, warm and impossibly fluffy.
