The Unlocked Exhibition

The Unlocked Exhibition

Will you be visiting any of the locations on the Ealing BEAT this weekend? In celebration of the Ealing art trail we're shining our Appealing Ealing spotlight on Ealing Police Station.

The Unlocked Exhibition which adorns the station on Ealing Broadway was the submission for the Ealing London Independent Photographers' group (@ealinglip) for Ealing BEAT 2021. We spoke to Sean McDonnell who helps to run the group:

"We were looking for a venue that people could access without going inside because of the ongoing restrictions at the time. Our initial idea was to display photographs in people's front windows but then we had a wild idea to go big!

"We ended up raising over £6,000 through crowdfunding and sponsorship to put that show on and worked with the Met and Ealing Council to make it happen.
What I most like is that we've been using it to engage local community groups in their experiences of lockdown and they've created their own powerful responses."
